What does your role at Fantastic Furniture involve?
My role at Fantastic Furniture is running a well-rounded successful business. Providing excellent customer service leaving a lasting impression for my customers, making them return for many more great shopping experiences.
Describe some of the main skills you need to be effective at your job.
Great leadership skills, to lead and motivate my great sales team whilst being approachable and having the ability to listen and understand their needs and requirements, to allow them to work their best. I also need to deal with all customers in a professional and understanding manner. In addition to this, strong stock controlling and business attributes. Most importantly, creating a fun environment to work in.
What makes your job rewarding?
My staff is what makes me come to work every day. Our team environment here is unbelievable - we are a family! Having great people around helping me run the store makes each day run smooth. It’s great and very rewarding to exceed all goals that we are given and celebrate the stores successes with the entire team.
How has your career at Fantastic Furniture changed or developed?
My career here at Fantastic Furniture has changed more than I could ever have planned for when I first started. Before joining Fantastic I worked in a popular hotel/restaurant where I needed a change. I joined Fantastic Furniture as a sales person (I was a gun if I don’t mind saying so myself, I could sell ice to a Eskimo!). After my first year I was promoted to 2IC. I believe I was rewarded with the position due to my hard work and strong work ethic. For the next 3 years I proved myself as a worthy 2IC and built a strong bond with my fellow salespeople. They had an enormous amount of respect for me as a team leader and supported me on to go for the manager position once it became available. Two years later I was promoted to Store Manager. I have been in my current role over two years and proud to say with the company for almost 9 years. I’m looking forward to my 10 year anniversary!

Being promoted to Store Manager!
What makes Fantastic Furniture a great place to work?
Fantastic gives all staff the opportunity to further their careers which for me is really important. My experience working here has taught me that if you work hard the company will support and promote you to become what ever you want.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
If anybody knows me, and most do, they know when I am not at work I am living it up! I love to fish, Barra and Murray Cod are my specialty. Love my fishing road trips up Northern Territory which I usually take each year.
